PERSONAL
My life experiences having clearly shaped who I am as a counselor. I grew up in a large family with four siblings. Life was active and at many points felt like organized chaos. In my early years of high school I entered into a personal relationship with Christ through the ministry of Young Life. I became interested in counseling early in college. I spent a summer providing counseling services in a Federal Prison while I was in college. That experience began my interest in working with incarcerated people and their families. My involvement with inmates and their families has continued to this day. I completed my Masters degree in 1980 and have been part of the counseling field in various settings and ways since then. I have been married since 1983. My husband, Mike, and I have 3 adult children. We have been empty nesters since 2008 and are enjoying this stage of life as a couple. As a counselor, I bring to the table a wealth of experience and history both as a professional counselor and also as a wife and a mom.
